This issue occurs because the hook module is not in the exact position it is supposed to be in. In order to fix this, you will need to remove the left-side body panel to locate the hook inside. This can be done manually by hand and is relatively simple to follow.
Follow the steps below to resolve this issue...
To correct the "hook not in position" error
1. First, remove the screw covers. You can remove them using an embroidery needle.
2. Once you remove the screw covers, you will use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove all six screws.
3. Lift up on the cover and then pull it towards you. The cover should come off the machine.
4. You will also see a blue sensor near the black gear.
5. You now need to adjust the gear so it is properly placed in between the flags of the blue sensor.
6. To do so, push the gear up or down to place the foot-like part in the middle of the black U-shaped piece extending from the blue sensor.
7. You should now be able to press the trim key without any error message.
In conclusion, a hook error normally happens when the machine does not trim. To prevent this from happening again, you may need to tighten the tension just a little to the right for whichever needle was being used that did not trim.

If you are still receiving the error message...
1. Turn off your machine.
2. Go to the control panel and see if the "Hook not in position" message is still there.
3. If the message is still displayed, repeat step 6 as mentioned above.
4. This second attempt should fix the issue.
