10S: Setting Up Mighty Hoops

PUBLISHED

Start by drawing a cross on the center of the Mighty Hoop. There are holes on the X and Y sides that you can place a ruler or straight edge on to draw the cross.

Place the Mighty Hoop on the machine. Then move the head to needle 1.

Go into the "Select Hoop" menu, then into "Custom", and then press "Add New Hoop".

In this page you can name the hoop, input the size, max speed, and center points. You can name the hoop anything you'd like, as well as set the max speed to your desired limit.

Begin by first naming the hoop. Then for the X and Y sizes, you first need to enter a large number to be able to correctly center the hoop. For the example below, I entered 40 inches for the X and Y sizes. This is temporary and will be corrected after finding the center points for the hoop. The "Rounded" setting is always 1 inch for all Mighty Hoops. The "Max Speed" can be set to any limit you choose.

Next, tap the box that says "Frame to set the center point", then press "Mechanical origin search". The machine will move the frame around.

Once the frame finishes calibrating, use the arrow keys on the screen to center the needle over the cross.

The X and Y sizes need to be 1 inch smaller than the actual size of your Mighty Hoop to prevent the needle from hitting the hoop. For this example, the 5.5 Mighty Hoop was used, so we entered 4.5 for the X and Y sizes. Now go back and correct the X and Y sizes for the hoop you are using. Then press "Save"

Now go into your hoop selector and reselect the hoop you just saved. Once the Frame recenters itself, verify the hoop is centered by lowering the needle, which should be over the cross.

If the Mighty Hoop is centered, you have finished setting up the hoop, and it is ready for use.
