MT: Needle Staying Down At 100° / Not Releasing Needle

PUBLISHED

To begin, make sure your machine is at 100° by manually rotating the degree wheel on the left side of the machine. Make sure you stop precisely at 100°.
(Rotate it 1-2 full times just to be sure)

Press the 100° button and check if the needle releases and retracts up.

If all the needles are up, the issue is resolved, and the machine is ready to be used.

If the needle over the needle plate is still down and won't stay up when pressing the 100° button, you will need to check the Solenoid on the left side of the head.

First, move the head over to needle 15. This will allow you to see the Solenoid on the left side.
While looking at the Solenoid, press the 100° button and check if the Solenoid cycles in and out.

If the Solenoid does not cycle in and out, it is possible the Solenoid is faulty and may need to be replaced.
If the Solenoid does cycle in and out, and the needle is not staying up, you will need to adjust the Solenoid position until it releases the needle correctly.

To adjust the Solenoid, find the two screws near the solenoid. Use a 3mm Allen key to loosen them. Don't take them all the way out. Just loosen them enough to move the solenoid.

Once the Solenoid is able to move freely, slide it back and forth slowly while pressing the 100° button until you find the position where the needle releases and stays up.

When you find the position where the needle releases and stays up, tighten the 2 screws. Make sure the Solenoid stays in place while you tighten the screws to avoid losing the position.

After the Solenoid is in place and the screws are tight, test the machine by pressing the 100° button. If the needle stays up, the adjustment worked and the machine is ready to be used.
If the needle stays down, repeat the adjustment until the Solenoid releases the needle.

Below is a video explaining the adjustment.
