First, please make sure your machine is at 100° by manually rotating the degree wheel on the back of the machine. (Rotate it 1-2 full times just to be sure)
Make sure you stop precisely at 100°.
Press the 100° button and check if the needle releases and retracts up.
If all the needles are up, the issue is resolved, and the machine is ready to be used.
If the needle over the needle plate is still down and won't stay up when pressing the 100° button, you will need to remove the left side cover on the machine.
Start by removing the 6 screw covers. You can remove them using an embroidery needle.
Once you remove the screw covers, you will use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove all six screws.
Lift up on the cover and then pull it towards you. The cover should come off the machine.
We want to make sure that the black gear and the metal arm are exactly in this position, with the metal arm touching the bottom of the black gear.
If the metal arm is not touching the bottom of the black gear, or there is a gap, you will need to adjust the metal arm so that it sits right underneath the black gear and is touching the bottom.
You will need to loosen the screw circled in the image below until the metal arm slides down.
After the arm slides down, you will need to manually lift the metal arm until it touches the black gear. Once the metal arm is touching the black gear, you will need to tighten the screw so it holds it in place.
If after tightening the screw and releasing the arm, there is a gap between the arm and the gear, you will need to loosen the screw again and repeat the adjustment until the arm stays touching the black gear when released.
If done correctly, you should be able to press the 100° button, and the needle should go back up.
If the needle does not go up, you will need to repeat the adjustment.
