The thread break system in your embroidery machine is a helpful feature that detects when a thread has broken. However, sometimes the system can give false alarms, known as a "false thread break." If you are experiencing this issue, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
What Do I Do When My Machine Has a False Thread Break?
If the problem first occurred with odd-number needles and then on even-number needles, please refer to the following steps:
Check if the issue is happening on ALL needles or just a few. If it is only happening on one or a couple of needles, you will need to check your Thread Path to make sure it is correct.
Make sure that one of the thread break sensors (wheels) is spinning while the machine is running. If it is not, this could be the cause of the false thread break.
If one of the sensors is Spinning and the Thread Path is correct, you will need to check The Sensor on the back of the head. Put the machine on Needle 14 and remove the cover.
Make sure The Sensor and wheel are correctly placed with the Black Flag holding them in place (as shown in the picture). Do not touch the wheel or sensor as they can be easily damaged. If necessary, you can use compressed air to clean any dust or debris that may have accumulated
(Please send us a picture if you can't tell or to adjust it if they are off)
If all of that is correctly placed, we'll need to clean it with some Compressed Air. Sometimes dust and debris can get inside.
Lastly, if the machine is still stopping, we'll need to shut down the sensor to test:
- Go to "EMB Param".
- Select "EMB Param2".
- Search for "Thread Broken Sensitivity".
4. If yours it's already set to a number, please try to set it at"0" or "No check"
5. Run the machine.
There are several reasons why threads may break, including improper threading, problems with the bottom thread feeding through the bobbin, incorrectly installed or bent needles, old or damaged thread, and a top tension that is too tight.
