3D embroidery is a technique that provides eye-popping details for your embroidery designs. There are several key steps to take prior to beginning your 3D embroidery to ensure that all goes smoothly. Chief among them is digitization. If your design is not properly digitized, your stitches will not fully cover the foam.
Important Tip: Before embroidering your 3D design, ensure it is properly digitized before you begin stitching. To learn more about digitizing a 3D design, click the following link for a tutorial video on how to digitize 3D puff without any hassles: How to DIGITIZE 3D Puff Without Any Hassles
To resolve your issue, please follow the instructions listed below.
- First, run a test using 2oz foam. If the logo fits and looks in good shape, then the design is digitized for this particular foam size.
- However, if you’d like to use a 3oz foam for your design, you’ll need to go back to your design and edit or digitize it again to use on thicker foam. (This will require either a longer satin stitch or more density.)
- Also, use the same – or similar – color foam for the thread color you are using to cover the design. This is recommended since the foam color can bleed through the design. And although this can be resolved, it’s best to avoid using a different color foam.
