Why Is My Machine Not Reading the Designs From My USB Drive?

PUBLISHED

If you're having trouble accessing the design files on your USB drive when using your embroidery machine, you're not alone. This is a common problem that many embroidery machine users face. There could be several reasons why your machine isn't recognizing your design files or your USB drive, including:

  1. Problem with the USB driver
  2. Improperly formatted USB drive
  3. Dead USB drive
  4. Problem with the USB port

To troubleshoot these issues, follow these steps:

  1. Try using a smaller USB drive, preferably one with a capacity of 16GB or less.

  2. Clear out the designs from the USB drive and reformat it to FAT32. This will help ensure that the USB drive is properly formatted and can be recognized by your embroidery machine.

  3. Open up the control panel back cover and check that the wiring is secure. If the wiring is loose, wiggle it and unplug/replug it to make sure the connection is secure.

  4. If the problem persists even after trying these steps, you may need to change the main board in the control panel.

Other Reason for Not Being Able to Upload a New Design

If you are unable to upload a new design to your embroidery machine, it could be because the embroidery status (the lock icon on the panel) is set to locked. To unlock it, you need to remove the embroidery status before uploading a new design. The embroidery status icon is located in the right corner of the screen and must be unlocked in order to access some of the machine's features.

Another possible reason for not being able to upload a new design is that the USB drive you are using has too much memory. Try using a smaller USB drive with less memory to solve this issue.
