Replacing the Control Panel on TC Series Machines Step by Step

PUBLISHED

This procedure applies to single-head, two-head, three-head, and four-head machines equipped with a seven-inch control panel and a single rear cable. Machines with three rear cables follow the same process but require disconnecting additional cables.

Identify the control panel type by checking the rear of the panel:

  • One rear cable: 507 model
  • Three rear cables: 307 model

Removing the Control Panel

  • Remove the four mounting screws located at the corners of the control panel. The lower screw may require repositioning the panel for access. A smaller screwdriver may help.
  • Carefully pull the control panel forward. The panel will remain supported by the internal cables.
  • Locate the black grounding cable secured with a screw. Remove this screw. This is the only internal screw that must be removed.
  • Disconnect the two connectors attached to the black cable. One connector has a locking clip that must be released.
  • Remove the grounding cable completely and set it aside. This cable will be reused.
  • Remove the control panel assembly from the machine.

Transferring the Mounting Bracket

  • The replacement control panel does not include a mounting bracket. The existing bracket must be reused.
  • Remove the four internal screws securing the old panel to the bracket.
  • Align the control knobs to prevent interference during removal.
  • If necessary, disconnect the Ethernet cable to access the final screw.
  • Detach the Ethernet cable and set the old panel aside for return.

Installing the Replacement Control Panel

  • Open the replacement panel housing by removing the rear screws.
  • Remove and detach the black grounding cable from the replacement panel.
  • Attach the replacement panel to the existing bracket using the four internal screws.
  • Ensure the panel is seated correctly and no cables are pinched.
  • Reconnect the Ethernet cable to the replacement panel.
  • Route and reconnect the black grounding cable using the retained screw. Tighten until snug. Do not overtighten.
  • Reconnect all remaining connectors. Each connector is keyed and will only fit in the correct location.
  • Reinstall the rear mounting screws. For alignment, install at least one screw before fully securing the panel.
