Why Can't I Transfer Images to My T-Shirt?

PUBLISHED

If you are having issues transferring your images onto shirts, you must:

  1. Make sure you are pressing the shirt at the correct temperature for the right amount of time.
    1. Press 100% cotton shirts at 310 F for 30 seconds.
    2. Press poly-cotton blend shirts at 285 F for 30 seconds.
    3. Press polyester shirts at 265 F for 30 seconds.
  2. Make sure you let the shirt cool down for about 2-5 minutes before peeling the transfer sheet off.
  3. Make sure to peel low on the press at a steady speed. Do not peel the sheet off by lifting it straight up or jerking the paper when peeling. Peel parallel to the surface of the shirt.

Understanding Heat Transfer Paper

Heat transfer paper is a kind of paper that transfers printed designs to shirts and other garments with the addition of heat.

The first step is to print a design onto a sheet of heat transfer paper using an inkjet or laser printer. Then, you place the printed sheet on your T-shirt and press it using a heat press. After it’s been pressed, you simply peel the paper away and your image should adhere to the fabric.
