Getting Started with Print Exp: Installation Guide
Whether you're a seasoned print technician or just diving into the world of DTF printing, having the right software installed is key to streamlining your workflow and getting high-quality results. Print Exp, also called Hosonsoft, is a powerful RIP software designed to simplify your printing process, offering a user-friendly interface and robust control over print settings.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of installing Print Exp on your system, ensuring a smooth setup from download to launch. Let’s get your software up and running so you can focus on what matters most: creating vibrant, professional-grade prints.
- Computer Requirements
Before installing Print Exp, it’s important to make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements to ensure optimal performance and compatibility. Please verify the following:

Operating System: Windows PC

Processor: Intel Core i5 or newer

Ports: At least two available USB ports

Network: Ethernet port or compatible Ethernet adapter
Ensuring your system meets these requirements will help prevent issues during installation and ensure the software runs smoothly.
⚠️ Important: To avoid potential installation issues, it is strongly recommended that you log out of Dropbox before starting the installation. Dropbox can sometimes interfere with file paths or installation permissions, which may cause errors during setup.
Once your system is confirmed to be compatible, you're ready to move on to the installation steps.
- Locating Your Software Download
Before you can begin the installation, you’ll need to download the Print Exp software. This file is conveniently available through your Ricoma Customer Portal. Simply log in using your registered account credentials and navigate to the My Products section on the left side of your page. There, you’ll find the correct version of Print Exp tailored for your system.
Once you click on the download icon pictured above, you should see your small browser download window start to download the file.
If you get a warning icon next to the download, as seen below, follow these steps:
- Click on the three dots circled in green in the sample photo.
- Next, click on Keep.
- You will then see the window pictured below; click on show more. Finally, click on Keep Anyway.
Once the Print Exp file has finished downloading, you should see an option to “Open File”. This means the installer is ready to launch. Before you click, make sure the file has been saved to your Downloads folder for easy access and future reference.
📁 Tip: If you're unsure where the file was saved, you can locate it by checking your browser’s download history or navigating directly to the Downloads folder on your PC.
With the file located and ready, you can now begin the Print Exp installation process
- You will see this Setup window, start by clicking Next >.
- You should now see the page below; make sure the correct file is selected as seen below, and click on Next>.
- You should now see the page below; click on LINK TCP, and click on Next>.
- Follow the image below, and click on Next>.
- Follow the image below, and click on Next>.
- You are now ready to install. Click on Install, you will see your installation bar now. Installation may take a few minutes—do not close the window or power off your computer during this process.
- You will now have to click to check that you accept the license terms, then click on Install>.
- You will now be on your Setup Complete page. Click on Finish.
- Printer Driver Install
- Start by clicking Next> on this page below.
- Read and click to accept the terms in the License Agreement, then click Next>.
- Enter your Customer Information, then click Next>.
- For Set-up Type, click Complete, then click Next>.
- Click Next>, then wait for the install bar to be completed.
- Click Finish, then click Finish again on the final window.
You can now use your Taskbar's search bar and type in PrintExp.exe and ensure your program downloaded properly.
