DTF Aire: How to use Provided Maintenance Liquids

PUBLISHED

Maintaining your DTF (Direct-to-Film) printer is crucial for ensuring consistent, high-quality prints and prolonging the lifespan of your machine. One important aspect of this maintenance is the proper use of the maintenance liquids provided with your printer. In this article, we’ll walk you through how to effectively use the provided maintenance liquids to keep your DTF Aire printer in top working condition. Proper application will ensure optimal ink flow, prevent blockages, and maintain the overall efficiency of your printer.

These are the main solutions that you should have on hand:

  • Capping Solution: Also known as Moisturizing Solution, is the liquid you will use to fill to wet cap the print heads every day when you finish printing at the end of the day to avoid clogging the Print heads.

  • Cleaning Solution: Please note that this solution has 2 uses.

The main usage of the cleaning solution is to use this liquid to clean dry ink buildup around the print heads, maintenance station, wipers, and any dried ink buildup on the machine.

The second usage of Cleaning solution is to be used a stronger solution for wet capping when a blockage or clogging has formed in the print head and the normal capping solution may not be strong enough to break the clogging.

If you are unsure of when to use this liquid as a substitution for wet capping, please contact Ricoma's customer support for guidance, however the general guide is that you will use this instead of the capping / maintenance solution when you are constantly missing 2 or more full grids on the nozzle check even after wet capping with the capping / maintenance solutions for more than 24 hours.

  • Ink Flushing Solution: This solution will be used when you need to completely clean/flush the ink from the system due to movement of the printer from one location to another or for long-term storage of the machine.
