This article provides an overview of the essential consumables for your DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing process. From inks and transfer films to powders and maintenance supplies, understanding the role of each consumable is key to ensuring high-quality prints and optimal printer performance. Proper management and timely replacement of these materials will help maintain your machine’s efficiency, reduce downtime, and prevent costly repairs. Read on to learn more about the key consumables for your DTF printer.
Damper: 3-6 months
When installing the damper, grab the hard plastic sides to avoid the spring getting damaged and ink spillage.
Ink Stack: 6-12 months
The ink stack should be checked and replaced every 6 months, provided it is properly maintained. With regular upkeep, this timeline can be extended, helping to maintain optimal print quality and prevent ink flow issues. Regular inspections and care are key to ensuring the ink stack performs efficiently over time.
Peristaltic Pumps: 6-12 months
These pumps have a lifespan of 6-12 months based on usage or approximately 1,000 operating hours. They should be replaced if they fail to function properly, as this can lead to inconsistent ink flow and printing issues. Regular monitoring is essential to ensure optimal performance and avoid potential print quality problems
Ink Filters: 3-6 months
Ink filters are designed to prevent clogs or blockages in the system. These filters are installed in the ink lines, where they trap any impurities, debris, or particles that could disrupt ink flow, clog the printhead nozzles, or negatively affect print quality. Notice: The filter size is 5 microns.

Origin Sensor trip: Clean it gently with pure water and lint-free wipes, every one or two weeks.
Consumables that only need replacement when they stop working:
- Encoder Strip

- Encoder sensor
- Origin sensor
- 40cm print head data cable
- Ink tube
Please note that depending on the machine model that some parts may look a bit different.
